The Difference Between Intentions and Goals


Before diving in, let’s clarify the distinction between intentions and goals.


  • Goals are specific, measurable outcomes (e.g., “I want to lose 20 pounds” or “I want to make $10,000 this month”).

  • Intentions are about the energy, mindset, and actions you embody while pursuing your goals (e.g., “I am committed to honoring my body with nourishing foods and movement” or “I am open to receiving financial abundance in aligned ways”).


Intentions are the foundation that makes achieving your goals possible. Without them, it’s easy to lose motivation or feel disconnected from your deeper "why."


How to Set Powerful Intentions for Manifestation


Step 1: Gain Clarity on What You Want


Manifestation starts with knowing what you truly desire. Many people struggle with this because they are conditioned to focus on what they don’t want rather than what they do want.


To gain clarity, ask yourself:

  • What excites or inspires me?

  • What area of my life feels out of alignment, and what would I love instead?

  • If I had no fear, no doubt, and unlimited resources, what would I create?


Write down your answers without filtering yourself. Dream boldly and unapologetically.


Step 2: Phrase Your Intentions in the Present Tense


Your subconscious mind responds best to present-tense statements that make your desires feel real and attainable now.


Instead of saying:"I want to be happier and more confident."

Try: "I am embodying confidence and joy in all areas of my life."

This shift trains your brain and nervous system to act as if your manifestation is already happening, which speeds up the process.


Step 3: Align Your Intentions with Your Nervous System


Many people struggle with manifestation because their nervous system doesn’t feel safe receiving their desires.


For example, if you set an intention for financial abundance but have deep-seated fears about money, your body may resist receiving it.


To create alignment:

  • Use breathwork and grounding exercises to calm your body.

  • Repeat your intention out loud and notice any resistance or tension that arises.

  • If discomfort appears, work through it with somatic movement, EFT tapping, or journaling.


Your body must feel safe before your manifestations can flow effortlessly.


Step 4: Take Inspired Action


Intentions are not just about thinking—they are about doing. Once you set an intention, ask yourself:

  • What small action can I take today to move toward this?

  • How can I show up in a way that matches the energy of my desire?

  • What habits or beliefs do I need to shift to be in alignment with this intention?


When you act as if your manifestation is already unfolding, you build momentum and signal to the universe that you are fully committed.


Step 5: Trust & Release Attachment


One of the biggest mistakes people make in manifestation is holding on too tightly to the “how” and “when.”


Trust that the universe is working in your favor, even if things don’t unfold exactly as you expect. Detach from the need to control every detail, and instead, stay open to receiving in unexpected ways.


Daily practices to build trust include:

  • Gratitude journaling (acknowledge what’s already unfolding).

  • Meditation or breathwork to surrender resistance.

  • Affirmations like “I trust that everything is aligning for my highest good.”


When you trust the process, you allow manifestations to unfold in divinely timed, effortless ways.

To reinforce your intentions daily, try these simple rituals:

Morning Intention Setting: Start each day by stating or journaling your intention. 

Nightly Visualization: Before bed, imagine your intention already happening.

Embodiment Practices: Move, speak, and act as if your manifestation is already real.

Sisterhood Support: Share your intentions with a trusted community for accountability.
